Summary: Batman and sidekick Robin return to fight crime in Gotham City following a large scale jail break. In this second entry, they are aided by Superman, Wonder Woman, and other members of the expanded DC Universe.
Review: Following the success of Lego Star Wars, the series has expanded to include a wide range of superheroes and movies. The concept may look utterly ridiculous, but the result has been ridiculously carefree and hilarious fun to play. Some entries, however, are better than others. I would recommend against Lego Batman 2. The addition of other DC characters is fun, but the gameplay is often frustrating. The levels are needlessly complex and confusing at many points, and the large map is utterly confusing. I struggled to get virtually anywhere in the game.
More like this: This is a miss for the popular Lego franchise. Lego Star Wars remains the best of the bunch. And, if you are looking for something new, Lego Lord of the Rings just hit our shelves. The Lake Bluff Public Library also has Batman graphic novels, cartoons, and live-action movies. For the discerning superhero connoisseur, though, The Avengers movie remains the current ‘king of the hill.’
