Fashion Exposed: modern art & constricted women

The 19th century, Paris Impressionist Art movement sought to depict modern society with a modern style of art. By examining paintings by Degas, Cassatt, Manet, Renoir, Monet, and their colleagues, one will discover the role fashion played in the Impressionist’s painting during the 1860s-1880s. If you are a fashionista craving more information about role fashion played in the “modern art ” of this time come to the Lake Bluff Public Library’s program A la Mode: Fashion in the Age of Impressionism   on Monday, July 29 at 7:00pm.
