The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Directed by Niels Arden Oplev) [Adult Blu-ray and DVD]

Based on the trilogy by Swedish author Stieg Larsson (deceased), the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo follows Mikael Blomkvist, an investigative reporter, as he attempts to solve the 40+ year old disappearance of Henrik Vanger’s grand niece, Harriet. Joining Blomkvist is Lisbeth Salander, a young hacker with a photographic memory, who aids Blomkvist in his search for truth. The movie is followed by The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.

While the deeply enticing film will have you gripping your seat with suspense, thirlls, and curiosity, it is not for the weak-hearted. The movie is extremely graphic. However, the addicting plot of the movie will keep many people wondering what will happen next.

The movie is in Swedish, but English subtitles are available! Don’t let that stop you from checking it out! Other pros include dynamic performances from both Michael Nyqvist (Blomkvist) and Noomi Rapace (Salander).
Additionally, I had the pleasure to watch this in Blu-ray. The beautiful Swedish landscapes were especially crisp, clear, and beautiful in High-Definition. If you have a Blu-ray player, grab that one instead of DVD. However, the library owns both formats!

Cons: Extremely Graphic!
